1st Quarter: Learning Through Lessons and Problems

This quarter was full of ups and downs. I learned a lot — not just from academic lessons, but also through personal experiences that helped me become better at handling challenges.

In ICT, I discovered so much about the history of something we really love and use every day — the internet. It was really interesting to learn how it all started, from the launch of Sputnik and how it was first intended for military use, to how it eventually became accessible to almost everyone around the world. Through each group reporting, I learned about the key people who contributed to its development made me realize how much work and innovation went into creating something we always take for granted.

We also learned about websites, including web addresses, HTTP, and ccTLDs (country code top-level domains), which help locate websites. I now understand what those parts really mean, it made me more aware of how information is organized online. Lastly, I learned about blogging, which came from the term “weblog” — the root of the different types of blogs we enjoy today, like vlogs.

Even if I enjoyed the lessons, I still faced some problems this quarter. One of them was memorizing for a quiz in ICT especially since there was a lot of years and names to remember.I also struggled with time management, as balancing schoolwork from different subjects with my personal responsibilities sometimes became too much and overwhelming. During group activities like reporting, there were moments of conflict, which made things a bit stressful.

To overcome these challenges, I try my best to review and memorize my notes the day before the quiz. I also try to manage my time by making a checklist for "to-do things" for me to avoid cramming. When it came to group work, I learned to be more understanding and open to listening, which helped prevent problems and made group work easier.

Moving on, I will continue improving my study habits and time management. I will also try my best to work well with my classmates, especially in group activities. I know that I learned a lot this quarter, but I'm also aware that we cannot always avoid conflict. Now, I feel more prepared to face these challenges and turn them into something I can reflect on, learn from, and use to improve myself.
